Released to users last August and long awaiting a new operating system update, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 has received some great news. Having received 9 different beta updates so far, the smartwatch is about to get its first major update…

WearOS 5 is coming to Galaxy Watch 6

Samsung’s highly anticipated One UI 6 Watch update is finally preparing to meet Galaxy Watch 6 users after an extensive beta process. Since June, 9 different versions have been tested within the beta program, and performance improvements have been made based on feedback from users.

Users who participated in the beta program will be the first to access the stable version update, which is approximately 136 MB in size. This update, codenamed BXJ5, also includes the October 2024 security patch. While the Wear OS 5-based update is expected to be released to regular users in the coming days, LTE models may receive the update slightly later.

The One UI 6 Watch update brings a series of AI-powered innovations to the Galaxy Watch 6. Chief among them is the ‘Energy Score’ feature, which evaluates users’ mental and physical readiness by analyzing sleep patterns and physical activities.

Additionally, with Galaxy AI integration, sleep tracking now offers much more detailed insights. Data like heart rate, breathing rhythm, and time to fall asleep provide users with a more comprehensive sleep analysis.

Coming with Android 13-based Wear OS 5, the update promises system performance enhancements while also improving battery life. The new design language, along with a modern system font, offers a sleeker look. It’s worth mentioning that all these features come pre-installed with One UI 6 Watch on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra models.
